Abraham (Abram) Kunselman was born in Northumberland County, PA, September 20, 1847 and came to Jefferson
County while a young man. He purchased property here and established a farm, continuing that occupation as long as he as able to work. He married Mary Anne Aulenbach at Pierce,
in Armstrong County, PA, on May 1, 1870. She was the daughter of Peter and Susannah Aulenbach, and was born in Armstrong County on November 11, 1851. (Her tombstone says she was born in 1857, see photo.)
The Kunselmans had a family of eight children. Known children are Mrs. Harry Shobert, of DuBois; Mrs. Albert Bitters, of Big Run; Mrs. Charles Martz, of Emerickville;
George of Emerickville; Harvey, of Pittsburgh; Ralph, of Vancouver, WA; and Mrs. David McCracken, of Brookville.
Mr. Kunselman died of Bright's Disease on September 20,
1899, after an illness of six months. He was buried in the Brookville Cemetery on September 21st. Mary Anne died in Brookville, on April 6th, 1918, of pneumonia, and was buried in the Brookville Cemetery beside her husband.
