Jesse Alcorn was born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, on June 28, 1831, and died at his home on Pickering Street, in Brookville, Jefferson County, on December 1st, 1899.
His age at death was 68 years, 5 months, and 3 days.
He served in the Union Army during the Civil War, in Co. B, 78th PA Vol for a period of three years. After the close of the war, he left
Armstrong County, and came to Brookville, making his home here until his death.
Mr. Alcorn was married twice, his second wife Susan died in 1918, and is buried beside him in the new Brookville Cemetery. His family consisted of nine children, three sons from his first marriage, and three sons and three daughters are from his marriage to Susan.
He was a member of the E. R. Brady Post 242 of the Grand Army of the Republic, attending all their affairs and meetings and every year he helped decorate the graves of his fellow veterans.
