Isaac Buffington was born in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, in Pennsylvania, on December 12, 1839.
He was the son of Enoch and Lydia (Trautman) Buffington, his parents were farmers in that area.
On June 13, 1860, in Langville, he married Sarah Harring, also of the same township. They made their home
after their marriage in several towns, among them were Ringgold, Timblin, and New Salem, finally retiring to
Brookville in later years. Sarah Harring was the daughter of George and Rebecca Harring, and was also born in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, her birth date being October 16, 1840.
Mr. and Mrs. Buffington were the parents of 10 children, including William G., E. C., Rebecca Witherow, all of
Brookville, Maude Michael of Rose Township, Dr. A. C., of Akron, OH, and Harriet, living at home. Several children died before their parents, they were E. E., George D., Nannie and Sadie.
Sarah Harring Buffington died April 26, 1926, at the age of 85 years, and was buried in the Brookville Cemetery.
Her husband Isaac, also died in 1926, on December 7th, and was also buried in the family plot beside his wife.
