Fredrick Nulph/Nolph/Nolf was born 28 May 1815, coming to Brookville about 1835, at the age of 20 years. In 1840, he married Nancy
Scott, a daughter of Alex Scott. Fredrick enlisted in the military and served 3 years with Company I, 62nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was wounded in battle, having a lifelong medical
condition from his wounds. He received a pension of $24 a month for his injury.
Fredrick and Nancy were the parents of seven children, four of them having died before their
parents. Surviving children were two daughters and one son.
He died 15 May 1892, at his home in East Brookville, of stomach cancer and was buried in the Old Cemetery on Pickering Street in
Brookville, PA. His wife, Nancy, died 15 December 1894, at the age 76 years, also of stomach cancer, and was buried beside him.
